All of RADA’s studios, performance spaces and other facilities are available to outside organisations to hire all year round. These spaces include three modern theatres in the Gower/Malet Street building which are perfect for performances, conferences and other events as well as a fully licensed bar.
Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre
The Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre is RADA’s largest performance space and is a highly adaptable proscenium style space which can accommodate a capacity of up to 191. The theatre is incredibly versatile and as well as being used in a traditional end-on configuration can be used in-the-round, in thrust and as a completely flat floor space for exhibitions or dining.
From a technical perspective, the theatre is very well equipped and very capable. It has full flying capabilities, extensive lighting and sound facilities and is kitted out with modern industry standard equipment.
A perfect location for a variety of events including conferences, product launches, AGMs, corporate entertainment, private parties and dinners.
GBS Theatre
The GBS Theatre is a black box studio which can accommodate a capacity of up to 100 and is suited to being used in a wide variety of configurations. It is located on the basement level with extremely easy access to RADA’s extensive in house scenic construction and painting facilities.
As well as being used as a conferencing or performance space in its own right, the GBS is perfectly suited to act as a dining facility to support other events going on in the building.
John Gielgud Theatre
The John Gielgud Theatre is RADA’s smallest performance space. It is a black box theatre capable of accommodating up to 70 and can be used in a wide variety of seating configurations. It is extremely well suited to use for film based work and is also very well positioned as a supporting space for larger events in the Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre.
Like RADA’s other performance spaces, it is a very technically capable venue and has a large stock of modern, industry standard equipment at its disposal.
Foyer Bar
The RADA Foyer Bar on Malet Street welcomes all guests to RADA’s theatres with modern and friendly surroundings. The bar areas includes a fully licensed bar that also serves food as well as the RADA Box Office, cloakroom and restroom facilities.
It is the perfect location for a pre- or post-theatre event reception which can be catered by RADA’s catering team to the very highest quality
