WELCOME  to the RADA ASSOCIATES home page

WHO EXACTLY ARE THE ASSOCIATES?
The Associates are a group of 200+ Actors, Actresses, Directors, Producers, Designers, Stage management, etc., most of whom are RADA graduates and have been chosen as associates by their committee and the RADA council.

WHAT EXACTLY DOES AN ASSOCIATE DO?
An Associate undertakes to help and promote, in whatever way possible, the well being of the students and the Academy.

HOW DOES AN ASSOCIATE DO THIS ?
Either by direct involvement in, say, a student benefit event or by giving advice to students, as part of the “Buddy” scheme (see below) or by any other contribution of a beneficial nature.  A good example of this was the participation in May 2001 by some 30+ associates in an event entitled “In Company” which was an entertainment organised by and mostly featuring some very high profile associates in the Jerwood Vanbrugh Theatre.  The evening raised nearly £15,000 which was added to The Student Hardship Fund - A fund set up by the associates committee expressly to help those RADA students in particular need.  Its success has encouraged the committee to continue to come up with more  fund raising ideas and events again involving the RADA associates and again benefitting the Students

WHAT ON EARTH IS THE “BUDDY” SCHEME
Every student in their final year is allotted a RADA associate who is there for them for help, guidance and assistance .  This help can be in the form of attending their public shows and offering helpful comments afterwards or advice on agents and casting directors or indeed answering any question or querie that only an experienced graduate can. The Scheme has proved immensely popular with students and “Buddies” alike.
