CONSERVATOIRE for DANCE and DRAMA

The Conservatoire for Dance and Drama has been established with the aim of putting the future of dance and drama vocational training in higher education on a secure footing.

As a designated Higher Education Institution, the CfDD receives funding from central government via the Higher Education Funding Council for England

All eligible EU students are funded at a similar level to students in equivalent UK and EU institutions. Currently the affiliate schools comprise

London Contemporary Dance School
The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art
Bristol Old Vic Theatre School
Central School of Ballet
London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art
The Circus Space
The Northern School of Contemporary Dance

Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance

With conservatoire level funding, the CfDD can offer the highest level training to the most suitable students selected on the basis of talent alone.

This addresses excellence at the highest international level, and helps shape the future of the art forms of dance and drama, whilst reinforcing the independence of the specialist schools involved.
