IN TEXT AND PERFORMANCE STUDIES
Course
Outline
Offered by Kings College in collaboration with RADA, this course
can be studied full time for one year or part time over two years
The classes taught at RADA are designed to deepen and extend an awareness
of drama and of plays in performance. Teaching sessions are concentrated
mainly in the autumn and spring terms with contact hours generally
on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and all day Friday and during the
summer period both colleges offer optional sessions.

training covers:
Study of texts in their cultural context Practical classes
in performance skills and turning text into performance
Lectures, seminars and workshops held at Kings College
Scene-study workshops with professional directors and classes
with specialist skills tutors held at RADA
Specialist seminars with other professionals in the theatre
and the media
Entry
Requirements
Qualification for entry is a good Honours degree, normally in the
Arts, but appropriate experience, for example in theatre, may be considered
as an alternative qualification. The course is expected to appeal
equally to
candidates with a knowledge of drama who wish to increase their theatrical
awareness and to candidates already involved in the theatre. Students
must be prepared to join in practical work as well as class discussions.
There are no age restrictions and the intake is normally enriched
by a wide spread of nationalities, backgrounds and levels of experience.
