Course Outline
This course (lasting two terms of 12 weeks each) is a course of full
time study intended for those students who are contemplating a gap
year before undertaking either a drama degree or a vocational training
for the theatre.
The 24 weeks are split into eight week sections focusing on three different
projects, which will be shown internally to RADA teaching staff:
Shakespeare
Contemporary Writing
Devising
Parallel to these
projects, skills classes are provided in voice, movement, acting, dance,
stage fighting, improvisation, theatre history and clowning. In addition
you will be introduced to dramaturgy and stage management and Wednesday
evenings are reserved for theatre trips or guest speakers. Group sizes
for projects and skills classes will be no more than 16 and your progress
will be monitored closely at all times and
individual feedback given by tutorials.
By the end of the
course, you will have gained insight into drama school culture, how
to rehearse and the demands of full time vocational drama training.
