MA in TEXT AND PERFORMANCE STUDIES Three Terms

Duration and Outline

Offered by King's College London in collaboration with RADA, this one-year course leads to a Masters degree in Text and Performance Studies. The course offers an opportunity to explore text as a medium for performance. Lectures, seminars and tutorials at King's College are complemented by scene-study workshops with professional directors and classes with specialist skills tutors at RADA. Please note that the sessions at RADA are designed to deepen an appreciation and understanding of text in a practical context; they are not a vocational training. Additionally both colleges organise specialist seminars with other professionals in the theatre and the "media".

Teaching sessions are concentrated mainly in the Autumn and Spring terms with contact hours generally on Wednesday and Thursday evenings and all day Friday. During the summer period both colleges offer optional sessions.

Qualification for entry is a good Honours degree, normally in Arts, but appropriate experience, for example in theatre, may be considered as an alternative. There are no age restrictions and the intake is normally enriched by a wide spread of nationalities, backgrounds and experience levels. The course may be taken over one academic year, or part-time over two. Please note that entry to this course is via King's College.

Further particulars and application forms may be had from:

The Administrative Assistant, School of Humanities, King's College, The Strand, London WC2R 2LS.
