RADA always has a long list of things that need funding each year from the very small to the more ambitious and many of these can’t happen without your support. The following is a list of some of the things that your contribution can support. You can choose to fully fund, contribute towards or give as a gift in-kind.

Hard hats, masks and boots required by law per technical student £50
Cost of a costume for a public production £200
Cost of neutral masks for acting students £300 each (x 6)
Bone props – a vocal instrument used by acting students in their dialect classes £380
Spot-lights for the theatres and teaching rooms £200 each (x 8)
Printing and framing of production photos £500
Fee for visiting lecturer in music score reading for technical students £720
Professional Lighting design for a public production £1,100
Short screen play for final year student film £1,500
Scenic art materials per specialist student per year £1,500 (x 2)
Follow spots for the RADA theatres £1,750 (x 2)
Professional design costs for a student production £2,000
Industry showcase event for specialist technical students studying props costume, scenic art, design, construction & lighting £2,500
Professional director cost for a student production £3,200
Band saw for the construction department £3,000
Maintenance and provision of stage fighting equipment £3,500
2nd year performance projects in Shakespeare, Style Tragedy, Style Comedy and Contemporary Practice £4,000 each
Regional access workshop with local schools, youth clubs and community groups £4,000
Books, plays and other resources for the library per year £5,000
Ring roller to bend steel for the construction department £5,000
Commissioning of a new play or translation/re-working of an existing play £6,000
Programme of public play readings of new works performed by RADA graduates £5,000
Recorded sound archive of the many eminent graduates during their time at RADA £5,000
Final year public production with professional director and designer performed in one of RADA’s three theatres from £10,000 (x 14)
Stage fight training and final showcase event £15,000
Programme of talks and master classes for students by industry professionals and graduates £15,000
Computer-aided design software and computers for the theatre technical arts students £20,000
Fit-out of a dedicated room for the RADA archive and an archivist for one year £35,000
A key strand of the RADA training in voice, movement, singing, acting, dramaturgy, lighting, costume, props, sound, scenic art, design, construction and stage management £50,000 each
A teaching post in each of the departments above for one year £50,000 each
